That’s right; in Elant at Goshen’s Adult Day program, attendees ranging in age from 26 to 100 celebrated the Olympics games their own way with toned-down, indoor versions of the competition.

Goshen – Dozens of residents from the Glen Arden Continuing Care Retirement Community enjoyed animated story time Friday morning, thanks to professional storyteller Eileen Stelljes, of “It’s Time For a Story.” Stelljes, outfitted in period costume, focused her talk on anecdotes regarding the constitution.

Beacon – Elant at Fishkill residents recently enjoyed a traditional day of fun and games with the help of 10 visiting West Point cadets.

Elant at Fishkill & Elant at Wappingers Falls raise $2,500 for Their residents

Beacon – Elant at Fishkill’s “Winter Beach Bash” at Chill Wine Bar in Beacon last week was a huge success!

The event, complete with palm trees and tiki torches, raised roughly $2,500. The money will benefit the Elant at Fishkill & Wappingers Falls Renewal Committee, which works to raise funds to support resident programs and activities.

Elant Choice Receives Accreditation for its Adult Day Services Program; Only program of its kind in the region to receive accreditation

Newburgh -  The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, also known as CARF International, announced that Elant Choice, Inc., has been accredited for a period of three years for its Adult Day Services program. Elant Choice’s social adult day program is one of only four programs in New York State to receive this accreditation.  The other three accredited programs in New York are located in the Rochester region.

Elant at Goshen Holiday Tea Honors Residents’ Memories

 Goshen – More than 100 residents from both the Elant at Goshen Adult Home and the Elant at Goshen Nursing Home enjoyed some holiday cheer recently during the Annual Elant at Goshen Holiday Tea. Attendees enjoyed tea, coffee, and an expansive dessert bar while listening to the melodic sounds of pianist Carol Cardello.

Pets visit with santa at Elant at Fishkill

Fishkill – Even the animals get to enjoy the holidays at Elant at Fishkill!

The non-profit organization recently hosted a “Pet Photos With Santa” event in the Main Lounge, where pet owners could bring in their animals to enjoy a “meet & greet” with Santa and get a framed photo in return. All proceeds benefited the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), a no-kill animal shelter on Simmons Lane in Beacon.

TREE TRIMMING HIGHLIGHTS GLEN ARDEN HISTORY & TRADITION

Goshen, N.Y. – Ninety-year-old Margaret Sullivan remembers standing in the living room of her family home as a young child just before Christmas. She wanted to light the candles in the ornaments on the tree, but her mother wouldn’t let her. Too dangerous for a small child, her mother explained, maybe when you’re older. That was roughly 80 years ago.

CHILDREN BRING CHEER TO ELANT AT BRANDYWINE RESIDENTS

Briarcliff Manor – Residents at Elant at Brandywine were gifted with early holiday cheer Tues., Dec. 2 when 50 students from the Roaring Brook Elementary School in Chappaqua visited. The children, ranging from five to nine years old, lined up to sing carols and then passed out Christmas card to each Brandywine resident.

Seniors enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant program at Newburgh Free Academy recently visited Elant at Fishkill to help its Elderact Club kick off its Operation Santa endeavor.

A Veterans Day luncheon held at Elant at Fishkill recently reunited two members of the same Army infantry division, both of whom – coincidentally - now call Elant home.

ELANT HOSTS STANDING-ROOM-ONLY APPRECIATION BREAKFAST

Beacon, N.Y. – Joyce Lanier used to spend her days alone.

Sure, there would be the occasional outing to the store, but otherwise she was on her own.

That all changed a little over a year ago when she came to Elant. Now Joyce has friends, activities, and people who care about her health and well being.

“I came here for rehabilitation therapy and I found a home,” she said. “This isn’t the end for any of us. It’s a new beginning. I can’t be happier with Elant.”

Pennies for Progress Takes Flight at Elant at Goshen

Goshen – A thoughtful look back can definitely equate to a significant step forward.

So say those at Elant at Goshen who recently launched a new internal fundraising effort being labeled “Pennies for Progress.”

The endeavor, which includes more frequent – albeit smaller – fundraising events, is designed to bring in additional money to improve the quality of life for Elant at Goshen residents.
