Middletown, N.Y. – July 29, 2010 - Elant, Inc., the Hudson Valley non-profit health and housing network, will host its ninth Annual Polo Picnic on Sept. 12, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Blue Sky Polo Club in Middletown.

GOSHEN, N.Y. – July 26, 2010 - The Third Annual Elant Golf Outing at the Dutchess Golf & Country Club in Poughkeepsie was another record-breaker for the not-for-profit Elant Foundation. Preliminary figures show that the Elant Foundation netted more than $49,000, a 16.7% increase over last year.

Dutchess County – July 15, 2010 - Elant at Fishkill and Elant at Wappingers Falls nursing homes and rehabilitation centers have been recognized as 2010 recipients of the Bronze Commitment to Quality National Quality Award presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), a trade organization with approximately 11,000 members nationwide.

Goshen, N.Y. - July 9, 2010 - Folks crowded into the lawns at Glen Arden in Goshen recently to enjoy a free performance of traditional folk music, performed by The Gravikord Duo of Florida, N.Y. The free concert was presented as part of the Elant Summer Concert Series.

Fishkill – July 1, 2010 – Theresa Laidlaw, 98, can recall quite clearly the fire that destroyed the Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge all those years ago. The story was covered in all the local papers in 1974.

Some 36 years later, Mrs. Laidlaw and 18 other residents of Elant at Fishkill Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center – all of whom were in wheelchairs – were able to see first-hand the bridge’s rebirth, during a recent outing to the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historical Park.

Goshen, NY – June 29, 2010 - Several of the 16 Elant at Goshen employees honored with a Circle of Excellence award over the last several years celebrated their accomplishment at a recent breakfast hosted in the Elant at Goshen main dining room.

Briarcliff Manor – June 28, 2010 - On a recent sunny day in June, the music and lyrics of the Beatles song “Can’t Buy Me Love” made all the difference in the world to Jonathan Grad, a 68-year old resident of Elant at Brandywine.  Jonathan was being visited by Lisa Wohlmuth, Elant’s certified music therapist, who visits with residents of the nursing home to provide a music therapy program known as Heart Song.

Fishkill – June 25, 2010 - More than 40 Newburgh Free Academy students marked the completion of their Certified Nursing Assistant internships recently during a touching ceremony at Elant at Fishkill Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center.

Briarcliff Manor - June 18, 2010 – In dialogues that crossed generational borders, graduating seniors from Briarcliff High School spent a recent afternoon delving into the backgrounds of four of those who call Elant at Brandywine their home.

Goshen, N.Y. – June 16, 2010 - Seven married couples who call Elant at Goshen home celebrated their wedding vows Sunday duringan outdoor ceremony in the Garden of Arden.

Goshen – June 8, 2010 – The Glen Arden Enriched Housing Unit recently expanded its patio area to include raised flower & herb beds, along with a sturdy patio table set – complete with an expansive shade umbrella – large enough to seat six.

Briarcliff Manor – For the second year in a row, the Elant at Brandywine Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center was found to have no clinical deficiencies during its recent annual health inspection conducted by New York State Department of Health surveyors.

Beacon – June 2, 2010 - Elant at Fishkill has been awarded a Five Star rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for its overall quality. A Five Star rating is the highest rating possible. 

Contributions to benefit Elant’s sub-acute and rehabilitation services expansion

Goshen – The Elant Foundation is hosting its 3^rd Annual Elant Golf Open July 15 at the Dutchess Golf & Country Club in Poughkeepsie. This year’s event, presented by Med-World Pharmacy, an Omnicare Company, is open to the public and will feature two special guests: James Patterson, America’s No. 1 best-selling author, and Robert Reiss, author and host of The CEO Show, a nationally syndicated business radio show.

Proceeds from this year’s golf open will benefit Elant’s sub-acute and rehabilitation programs, which provide comprehensive, in-patient care for those recovering from an acute illness or injury following a hospital stay. Over the past two years, Elant’s supporters have helped renovate a significant portion of Elant’s rehabilitation units, and allowed for the purchase of new therapy equipment.

Goshen - May 25, 2010 - Who was going to take the trophy? Would it be the Cyclones, with their lightning blue shirts and nerves of steel? Or maybe the dangerous Crimson Tides, who were ready for battle? Or would the Go-Getters charge up and topple both challengers?

The competition was fierce last week at Elant at Goshen, where residents from the Adult Home battled it out during the Wii Bowling Championships against clients from Adult Day Health program and the Daybreak program.

Goshen – May 24, 2010 - Glen Arden, Elant’s Continuing Care Retirement Community, will be hosting a book signing and open forum with local authors Deb and Val Gantt (aka DeVa Gantt) on June 11 at 2 p.m. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Briarcliff Manor – May 20, 2010 - Twelve employees of Elant at Brandywine were recently recognized for completing milestone service anniversaries at the annual Employee Recognition Day held at the 131-bed, not-for-profit nursing home and rehabilitation center in Briarcliff Manor.

Beacon – Three volunteers who share their time and effort with the residents of Elant at Fishkill Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center were honored recently, two by the New York State Health Facilities Association (NYSHFA), and the third by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Dutchess County (RSVP).

Goshen – The Elant Foundation, the fundraising arm of Elant, Inc., has welcomed two new officers to its Board of Directors following the annual board election process held in April.

Joseph J. Minuta, owner of Minuta Architecture, PLLC in New Windsor, was elected as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Elant Foundation, while Paul S. Ernenwein, a litigator with Tarshis, Catania, Liberth, Mahon & Milligram, in Newburgh, was elected vice chairman.
