Goshen, NY – June 29, 2010 - Several of the 16 Elant at Goshen employees honored with a Circle of Excellence award over the last several years celebrated their accomplishment at a recent breakfast hosted in the Elant at Goshen main dining room.
The Circle of Excellence Fund was established in July 2005 through the Elant Foundation, Inc. with a gift in memory of Muriel Kaufman for the outstanding care she received during her residency at Elant at Goshen. Her family and friends were deeply appreciative of the excellent care provided by the Elant staff and started the fund as an expression of their gratitude.
“You all represent different departments and serve very different roles here,” said David Kaufman, Mrs. Kaufman’s husband, during the breakfast. “The common thread is that you work to create a life for those who are deprived of friends, the life they knew, and of their independence. You get to know them and offer continuity, comfort, and caring.”
The Circle of Excellence award is designed to recognize an employee who provides outstanding, exemplary care and compassion to residents and thereby improves the quality of everyday life of those in our care. Recipients receive a cash award, a pin to display on their badges, and a catered lunch.
“You demonstrate the best of what Elant has to offer and we are very grateful to have you,” said Catherine Lopez, vice president of Human Resources, who also addressed the recipients. |
