Goshen, N.Y. (March 18, 2011) – Two Elant at Goshen staff members have been awarded the Elant Foundation’s Circle of Excellence award. Nerlande Pierre-Lewis, an LPN, and Michael Paterno, a physical therapist, were honored recently for their outstanding compassion and high-quality of care.

“Nerlande takes time to offer special things to the residents to make them feel special and important,” wrote RN JoAnne Morales, who nominated Pierre-Lewis.

“With Mike’s compassionate encouragement and excellent physical therapy, I was soon able to sit up, get myself in and out of the wheelchair, and walk with a walker,” wrote an Elant at Goshen resident who nominated Paterno.

The Circle of Excellence award was established in July 2005 through the Elant Foundation with a gift made by Elant Foundation Board Member David Kaufman in memory of his late wife, Muriel Kaufman, for the outstanding care she received during her residency at Elant at Goshen.
