Newburgh - Dec. 21, 2009 - The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, also known as CARF International, announced that Elant Choice, Inc., has been accredited for a period of three years for its Adult Day Services program. Elant Choice’s social adult day program is one of only four programs in New York State to receive this accreditation. The other three accredited programs in New York are located in the Rochester region.
CARF, is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons it serves.
This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. To receive the three-year accreditation, Elant Choice put itself through a rigorous peer review process and demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.
Elant Choice, a not-for-profit organization, located at 31 Cerone Place, Newburgh, provides an innovative, community-based, managed long-term care plan which enables eligible adults, aged 18 or older, to receive care while remaining at home. Elant Choice clients have access to a coordinated system of care that provides health care and social services in the client’s home. Elant Choice also owns and operates an adult day services program which provides a supervised group environment for adults who can live independently but may benefit from activities and companionship during the day.
“We are extremely delighted and proud to have been awarded the CARF accreditation for the Elant Choice adult day services program, said Kate Thomas, Vice President of Elant Community Health Services. This accreditation is the result of daily dedication put forth by our committed team of employees who strive to ensure we provide the highest quality of care possible.
