The Director of Patient Services assures overall regulatory compliance and safe care delivery for our BRAND NEW Certified Home Health Agency [CHHA], in accordance with the long term business strategy of the community division and in support of its brand. S/he functions in the capacity of advisor to the Chief Administrative Officer on matters of CHHA operations, quality management, clinical competency, and performance improvement, and focuses on systematically developing, implementing, and delivering processes that support and drives clinical excellence. S/he assumes a process toward a “Clinical Excellence” designation, develops a Balanced Scorecard approach to define & measure the key criteria of the CHHA’s operations and quality management systems, and ensures a strict focus on process efficiency and prevention – rather than recovery. Creates/maintains an environment that attracts strong talent, encourages high/engagement and low turnover, and promotes nurse job satisfaction and retention.
Ability to maintain a sense of urgency while simultaneously addressing multiple issues is a must, as is the ability to work in fast paced environment. Analytical skills, data accuracy, and strong follow-up skills are critical to the success of the position.
The Director of Patient Services plays a key role in modeling expectations for staff. S/he must embrace, model, communicate, and teach in accordance with CHHAs quality–focused mission statement. Furthermore, s/he plays a key role in ensuring staff and managers are highly engaged with our quality standards and willing to take ownership of results.
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or approved NYS DOH health related curriculum required. Must have current NYS nursing licensure. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in community health setting [CHHA, LTHHCP preferred] in NY State. Proven track record of survey readiness & excellence.
Valid driver’s licenses is required as position requires regional travel. Must be available for after hour emergencies.
