Elant Hallmark to replace annual Polo Picnic; evening promises entertainment and surprises
Goshen, N.Y. (August 14, 2014) – Elant has announced its brand new signature event, Hallmark, to be held Friday, November 7, 2014 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville. A departure from its Annual Polo Picnic, which took place for 12 years, this new, transformative nightlife experience will continue the tradition of honoring a key regional organization and an esteemed individual for leadership, commitment and dedication to those in Elant’s region and beyond, while putting a cutting-edge spin on the traditional evening signature event.
Elant will honor St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital with the Flame of Excellence Award, which is bestowed upon a person or organization that has inspired leadership and dedication to improving the lives of others. St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital, which has been dedicated to serving the health care needs of those in the Hudson Valley for more than a century.
Robert Scherreik will receive the Elant Signature Award, which is given to an individual who demonstrates a commitment to enhancing health care and housing for the elderly through philanthropy, vision and communication. Scherreik is the Executive Managing Director of Pyramid Brokerage Company in Newburgh, N.Y. He served on the Boards of Arden Hill Hospital and Arden Hill Life Care Center, until they split, and then became Vice Chair of Arden Hill Senior Health System (now known as Elant). Scherreik served on the Elant Board of Directors from 1994 to 2013.
“This year’s honorees have contributed greatly to strengthening our community’s health care systems and services, through leadership, commitment and collaborations,” said Melissa McCoy, Elant’s Vice President of the Elant Foundation and Community Relations.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to commend them for their years of service and dedication, and our new Hallmark event is the perfect occasion to highlight their positive impact.”
Elant Hallmark promises to be one of the region’s most magical and transformative nightlife experiences, starting with a jazz-infused, elegant wine tasting, followed by a stepped-up lounge venue with top-billed entertainment; tapas; tableside beverage tastings; oxygen bar; non-stop dancing; silent and live auction, and many surprises. Attendees will enjoy a one-of-a-kind event, with proceeds benefitting Elant residents.
“We are very excited to present a new concept for the Elant Foundation fundraiser,” said McCoy. “The evening will evolve from a sophisticated cocktail hour into a fun, energetic and captivating nightspot with entertainment and several unique elements.”
